Great ride by Nibali. BTW he has tested a new tactics today:

1. Check that Sagan got dropped
2. Make sure that Sagan won't come back
3. Attack
4. The rivals suddenly realize Sagan is not there to chase. They are demoralized and can't chase. Nibali wins.

Make that 1'28 ;)

I don't know about you, but that's a lot better then I expected him to do.
He had an epic painface when crossing the line as well.
It's allready a good improvement compared to last year when he was in the gruppeto going up climbs. Who knows... maybe he will be a decent climber in a few years.

Kruijswijk not good, but looking back on last year the only races he was good was the Giro and Tour de Suisse. I don't think he will be a rider that will be able to peak multiple times during a season. Hope I'm wrong.

Maybe because Nibbles attacked, no one responded, he rode away to victory and no one else moved? Nah, must be cause no Brits.

Also, thanks Hitch, that's exactly it. But I don't hate all top Spanish riders. I like Madrazo. ;)

my post wasn't exclusive to this, and I was obviously trolling with in a non-serious manner.

BUT Thanks detective, you are some intellect ;)

why? cause no brit?

I thought it was a decent stage, nibbles looked a class above to be honest.

Personally I find the type of stage where 1 rider attacks and everyone else follows in a group, dull.

I prefer the steep short finish like last year.

LOL. Horner was just looking at Nibbles when he flew away.

Horner probably hoped Kreuziger would react, but that didn't happen. Probably both were in the red since they didn't really close the gap when they started riding.

rabo are a big pile of fail thus far this season. Even with an injury ridden winter it looks like rabo rely on mr, gesink to deliver still

My bad. I shouldn't have taken seriously, even though the forum has been full of anti-Brit posts as of late.

well i always like mtf, but i agree ta is a better race with the short sharp finishes we have seen the past few years.

still doesn't wasn't a bad stage. Only if one had silly expectations, which would be stupid.

He has climbed well before, but anonymously, and generally in support of someone. Because today he was in white and 3rd in GC people took notice, where before that ride would never have been noticed. That is possibly the first time he's been allowed to give it all for himself, and all the way to the line.

haha horner loses, again

Horner's has no climbers with him on his team. His choices were limited. I believe he has the GC. If not, that's OK. It will come down to the ITT. Horner's never had a strong as an uphill sprinter so no surprise here. He still has a good shot at he GC. To go after Nibbles would have been a mistake. You react to so many attack in that situation.

coldeportes have been probably the most disappointing thing about ta so far.

hurts to recognize it-today was supposed to be the golden opportunity to glow-but Duarte barely held the pace until the attacks begun.....
there is a lot of work to do for the coming races indeed

An mtf always has the potential for more attacks, groups on the road etc. Had Nibali not attacked and it came down to a bunch sprint, would have been more exciting than this.

To be fair most of their build-up races were cancelled. Some of the guys on the team haven't raced in Europe before this season so to be thrown in at the deep end to some extent in Tirreno with little race rhythm.

Nonetheless, especially disappointed with Duarte. Forget the TTT, he should've been able to do something yesterday and today's stage.

If this is the best Coldeportes can do, then I think its time to consider giving their Giro invite to some other team. I know people love them here but lets be realistic, they have done nothing so far to justify their invite. So much hype and so little results.
