This year, stage 4 Tour of San Luis 19.5km
1 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Omega Pharma-QuickStep 0:22:33
2 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Liquigas-Cannondale 0:00:23
3 Stefan Schumacher (Ger) Christina Watches-Ofone 0:00:38
4 Sylvain Chavanel (Fra) Omega Pharma-QuickStep 0:00:39
5 Magno Prado Nazaret (Bra) Funvic-Pidamonhangab 0:00:44
6 Alberto Contador Velasco (Spa) Team Saxo Bank 0:01:01

At half the distance here though, but that is a reminder that Nibali's TT has come up. ITT results are never a fluke.

That is a pretty good thrashing by Leipheimer who is obviously a very good TT rider but past results are sometimes misleading. I will still stick with Horner for the win. Last rider off in the TT is also an advantage most of the time.

There Nibali was great in the TT, but pretty poor on the climbs. It's a fine balance, which I fear will be tilted the other way again.

lol cav and napolitano in a break.
they were brought back now

guess what we'll have today in gazzetta's streaming:

Diretta video streaming sul sito a partire dalle ore 14,50. Telecronaca di Antonino Morici e commento tecnico del professionista Andrea Colli, collegamento telefonico con Mario Cipollini e Michele Bartoli

Horner continues to tear up the accepted physiological rule book.
First, his age, now the fact that he's come into his first race, after three-quarters of a year out, with great, great form.
Better even than those with significant racing miles already under their belts.

Unless he has a mishap today, I can't see either Kreuziger or Nibali being able to claw the necessary seconds back.
Roman hasn't done a decent ITT since???
Is Nibs over a second a km better than Chris?

As does Voigt at the same age. Head up against LL Sanchez?

Horner has earned GC status late, but his has career full of results. Scattered over the years except for his return to the US circuit mid-career (which he totally dominated), but he's never been given his due.

I think he had some good fortune on the altered Stage 4. That climb might have stripped away any teammates over the last er 40K? As said, his team and Cancellara put him freshly on the 10% where he always can finish up front and win on a uphill finish line.

According to a danish cycling site (feltet.dk) EBH was involved in a crash yesterday, nothing serious, but Sky won't take any chances before MSR and therefore decided to pull him out of the race.

From the Sky website:

Team Sky’s Race Coach Rod Ellingworth said: “It’s a shame Edvald won’t be able to finish Tirreno-Adriatico but we didn’t want to take any risks with his fitness before Milan-San Remo.

“There is nothing seriously wrong with him, he is just feeling the effects a bit after his crash, and with the great form he has shown over the last month, we wanted to give him the maximum recovery time ahead of Saturday.”
