Results from 5 years ago are not relevant in this case

Just check Rolland's position and gap for further evidence.
vcampbell said:Yes, because a 35 year old Zubeldia is exactly the same as a 26 or a 30 year old Zubeldia.

vcampbell said:Why? You think that if you're 50 years old, then you could easily win a Tour?
There are riders like Leipheimer or Horner, who are like a good wine.
There are riders like Voigt, who are always the same.
There are riders, who are old int he age of 33-34-35.
There are riders, who are fulfilling their real level somewhere at the age of 30.
We are all different, but we can't say, that a rider who is able to reach the 5th position in the age of 26th will the same at the age of 35.The field in this Tour is weak. I like Zubeldia, but this not the position where he should be, with harder route, and more than 3 contender.

nesocip said:Zubeldia is the most unnoticeable rider in general, he was racking Tour top 5s and 10s with 0 tv exposure. Before, when he led euskaltel he would get dropped before 25-30 other riders, and then tempo his way up overtaking them and finishing 5-8 on almost every mountain stage with a pretty decent TT giving him enough to end up between 5-10 on almost every tour. Take out the guys that got suspended, you got him maybe even around podium place in 1-2 tours.
Very very consistent as well, i just remember him having 1 off day in what 7-8 tours where he featured in a prominent role.
