I have not seen a team that strong since the Armstrong teams before they were broken up by transfers

That was USPS 2004. They should have pretended to look tired. Make it somewhat believable.

Leipheimer dropped.
Sanchez dropped.
Menchov dropped.
Rolland dropped.

In a single stage!

What does this tell us?

Ferrari's VAM technique paying dividends. There's obviously a key ingredient that goes along with that technique.

Rogers dropping Samu. That's believable.

What a disaster. Weather turning nasty (as in rain and 16 degrees next week, in the middle of July ffs), so only thing I can do is watch cycling.

Will be a bad summer.

I appreciate that Clinic connotations are inevitable on the big days, but please use the no doubt hot thread in the Clinic to discuss such topics.

I get a sneaky suspicion it's gonna be a party over at the "Clinic" tonight

For a couple of hours, then the urge of all resident Americans to discuss Lance will become overwhelming again.

I'm floored, what a race, surprised by Zubeldia and Nibali, Menchov shows he's not quite there, but close, could still podium.

In case of Sanchez, he will only become stronger in the Tour. He had to take rest after the disastrous Dauphine for him.

But he's not gonna challenge for the win, no. Izagirre was very good, he will win a stage for sure.

So, Evan's can't drop Wiggan's on the climbs and can't keep up on the TT's. This leaves the marginal gains on the descents for Evan's to make up time. It's still early but it's looking very like Wiggan's tour to lose.

It's a bit early for that. Still some major climbing stages to come. However early indications are Wiggins can climb well enough to win in the TTs.

I thought the single mountain stage was Bradley's strength. Menchov will appear stronger in the next week or two, and along with Evans is probably the best rival to Wiggins in the TTs.

Taaramae has wrapped up the white on the first mountain stage pretty much. Good ride. One of my favourite riders.

The Tour is hardly over. This is one of the only three summit finishes this year, plus there's 95km of TT left.

Barring injury or untimely mechanical for Wiggins, he's got this Tour in the bag.

EDIT: never seen Froome interviewed, very likeable guy.
