Blythe laying it on Vac.....

Briton Adam Blythe (BMC) also complained of suspect tactics.

"Two Vacansoleil riders caused the crash," he told AFP.

"To have two teammates causing a crash when they're not fighting against each other is just stupid.

"Under-eights racing don't do that, it's just ridiculous. They're not riding with their eyes closed."

There was a Vac rider who went down 1st and a BMC rider with white cleats over the top - thought it was GVA probably Blythe I guess now - he will have a painful a$$ now - bounced up fast

Well we all know Feillu has an aggresive way of taking position so it wouldn't surprise me if he caused it.
Not sure about Kamikaze Kenny though :D

How was Sky's lead-out? Thomas, Dowsett and and Hayman leading out Sutton with Rogers and EBH taking it easy? I only read the results.
Seems like it, EBH didn't take part in the sprint at least. Don't know if he were hindered by the crash or just saving energy for tomorrow.

He made quite an effort to reach 5th position and I think he was pretty much done once he did that. Bit silly, because Matthews was with him in 12th-13th position when he decided to move up to 5th position. Should've let Matthews do that for him or vice versa, but apparently they haven't found out what works for them yet.

From the highlights video, it appears the crash was not caused by a spectator. Rather, the crash caused the riders to fly into the spectator.

Matt Goss and all the other big names have been given the same time as the Greipel group.

None of the rider reaction I have seen reported or on Twitter has suggested the spectator was at fault.

Regardless, Greipel admitted that Tuesday's stage was one of the toughest he'd experienced at the Australian race, especially when it came to the extreme heat with temperatures on the road reported to be as high as 49 degrees Celsius.

"It was not healthy anymore for me," Greipel said. "I think the others also had the same conditions but for me it was really, really hard today."

NO Gorilla you were riding around in a climate of your own ...... :)

ps Wirral seems to be different reports

One is Vac guys fighting for position against each other Kenny goes down.

the other

Kenny was not let in by same Vac rider (? name ) went wide on the right hand shoulder of the road - hit the woman who was close to the edge, Kenny the brings down the group

That would be crazy. Sounds like Kenny and Romain were fighting over positions, but I can't imagine them fighting eachother. Else the teamchef better has a little chat with them.

spectators had nothing to do with it, who's the idiot that started this? It was obvious from TV footage a dutch rider caused it, apparently so from the road side also.

Obviously someone chasing a headline write the initial comment/article. Poor woman, imagine if it was your mother.....all the anon interweb people who wrote pathetic **** about her should be ashamed.

I don't know really. I for sure know that Mol crashed as well so it's probably him. That would be even worse since Mol will likely be van Hummels leadout.

It was reported from numerous sources at the race. Nobody on the forum started it.

I'll have to watch the highlights again and look for Renshaw, I didn't see him at all.

Sky ran a pretty solid lead-out for Sutton but he doesn't have the speed to hold off Greipel and Pettachi for much more than 50m. I think Sky would have a better chance of winning if they were leading out EBH but I guess they would rather have him practice for leading out Cav at the Tour or something.

Greipel would have won by a much bigger margin if he hadn't been boxed in, he tried to go round the outside of Ale-Jet but had to hesitate and cut back inside, which is why it was so close at the line. The Gorilla always seems to have much better speed in the early season than all the other sprinters, I wonder what he does all winter.

57th in peleton with same time as winner ;)

GC looks to be over for Goss, Rojas, Meyer and Ciolek ( 1:40) from the big names. Not a good stage for GE with 5 riders on 1:40 already,

Why didnt they get the 3km rule? Strange.
