Well, they won Tour of Belgium pretty easily. You won't hear me complimenting this year's edition of the Tour of Belgium! Awful course, competition was much better than here though. And Der Tony at least had to do a considerable amount of effort on the queen stage which was won by Betancur.

By owning, I mean winning a lot of stages and overall, I am pretty sure that they didnt win any stage other than TT

am i the only one seeing that even after spliffs and booze, wiggo rides like a machine,as in every race this year??i mean he really could give JTL a run for his money.

Comparing Wiggins to JTL is like comparing Wiggins to Contador!

Please refrain from doing so again. long live JTL.

do you think stage 6 will be the queenstage? not many contenders left anyway

It's a close to a queen stage as this race can get.
Hopefully this year's second ascent will make the difference.
If it does it's expected GC job, Caerphilly, will join Stoke, Blackpool etc, as a permanent fixture within the race.

More's the pity.

Comparing Contador to JLT is like comparing JLT to a BLT.

Oh dear. The ITV4 highlights show managed to completely miss out the echelons splitting the bunch.

Yep, shocking editing.
Which production company doing ToB or is it an itv production?

I don't know but part of the contract with the organisers seems to be that they have to show every single sprints and KOM points along the route which means on the highlights show they don't have enough time for the key action. At least people can record the live coverage this year.

I think they missed it split on the live coverage didn't they? Or did I just miss it?

Yeah, it seems they missed the initial selection whilst on an ad break but caught the aftermath.

Is there any point to the ToB except raise Sky's win count?

It makes up for all those national titles that OPQS took.

Latest Victory count:

Sky - 49

OPQS - 46

Yeah, no. NC serve a point.

This is a stage race where last year's winning team isn't even invited to make things easier for Sky and so they can wear bib number 1.

Well Boom was at the Vuelta so he was unable to take part and has it even been confirmed that Rabobank weren't invited? Maybe they didn't fancy it this year.

There are six world tour teams just like last year. Euskaltel was a pretty dodgy invitation for this type of racing but maybe they'll show themselves in the stages to come.

Porter is useless but I think for a first timer Rob Hayles is very good and for one I'm just happy we've got live coverage every day. Well done ITV4.

hayles does a good bit on secondary races for eurosport, and did the pre race and post race pundit work during tour, decent lad explain things well uses common sense and can spot riders.
