Besides that last corner by Sagan, this stage's most interesting part was the beautiful Californian tarmac. Black and a little rough.

I hope pozzato was watching this stage... Perhaps he learned something.

No idea what the other teams are trying to accomplish, because if you don't rip it up on the uphill sections, Sagan will cbe a deadcertainty for the victory.

Good point. It's a scary thought though that Sagan is only 22 though, and assuming he's not a rider who peaks incredibly early in his career then surely he'll be an absolute freak in a few years time and near impossible to beat on many stages.

Any word on his younger brother? Is he in the same talent stratosphere?

Edit - I see his brother Juraj is actually a year older. Perhaps he's not quite made of the same stuff

Juraj is the older brother. Is there another one?

Yeah, Sagan is extremely impressive. And is IS natural talent, because he certainly does NOT have this substances/blood treatment methods that others don´t have.
Repoxygen currently seems to be the maximum, the most effective substance endurance athetes could use. Given the fact he had access to this, he should already have had access in 2010, when he turned pro and was already really strong. Two years have passed, and if he should have had access in 2010, others surely will have in 2012 even more. So this can´t be the reason.

Sagan is extremely gifted. Rebellin 2004, Gilbert 2011, Bettini, Valverde - he seems to reach their level within the next 1-2 years. And he already has the consistancy of these top riders, performing from February to autumn.
He should be able to take Green in the Tour some day, become World Champion, Olympic Gold Medal Winner, and win all the five mouments.
Since his first pro races in January 2010, Tour Down Under, he has been just impressive.

Sagan showing goss and pippo how to rail an apex around a tight bend.

he didn't even really outsprint them, he just carried at least 5% more speed than everyone through that corner. awesome, awesome bike racing.

Sagan has been just stunning to watch the last couple of days.

Today he was so bothered with his front tire and still just took care of business and then right back up to the front.
When he blew toward the finish it was obvious he was coming through just like a hurricane ...amazing power.

It's fun watching him. Great stuff. :)
