Finally a foreigner wins the ToC (that I know of), should mark the end of the ToC as the next great stage race.

As we saw today! Oh no wait. You'll never be a person to credit Gesink will you?
I would- but he's yet to prove himself on the big races- Cali is just a "warm up"

Awesome by Gesink, great suspense in the final too. Actually I was most impressed by Dombrowski, what a kid  Somebody sign him, now.

Floyd Landis won in 2006. He must be a foreigner or else Phil&Paul would be talking about him constantly like they do with every other American/Anglophone rider.

Great ride by Gesink. Great ride by Atapuma. Good defense by Zabriskie. And I really liked how fluent Dombrowski looked for such a lanky guy. Certainly a big future ahead of him.

It's pretty clear Gesink is also just warming up. He was definately not at his best today that was clear

Well, in all fairness to Dombrowski, 5 years ago Gesink also rode TT's from that level. He improved. So why couldn't Dombrowski. He looks like a great talent

Funny how Leipheimer actually is going to finish 3 placed higher on GC that Horner, especially after all Horner said in fact Leipheimer was pretty bad just Horner was worse.

Yea, just wait for the "I told you so" from Horner on how Levi was faking it.

I still find it more of a suprise Duarte went back to Colombia.

Can't believe nobody else picked him up. Today again a great climb (after starting to far back when the attacks started)

Riding for a national team is still a strong pull to a lot of people. Definitely a step back on his career path so far though.

I am sorry Drombowski and Craddock will be top knotch GT men in Europe.

I am just saying it because of their confidence, poise, movement on bike.

When I see guys like Drombowski and Craddock, I see inner power, and more power ready to be unleashed, still in development.

Wheras with the great Colombian climber, a climber, yes, at peak performance. When Drombowski blows by a climber like TJ, who targeted this race, respect.

Well, he's obviously not a born TTer, so what? This is the most impressive climbing by a 20 year old (!) I've seen in a long time.

There are? I think in the Giro we're about to see a full week of mostly climbing. Actually most races get more and more climby, even Eneco Tour.

it was a matter of national pride & mostly the security of being a protected leader(perhaps Atapuma is currently challenging that position:D) -whereas in Europe he would have become a "domestique" with few chances to race for his own ambitions...
don't see it such step back when he's performing so well- I'm confident he will receive offers from big teams in coming years & the full transition will be made.
Atapuma to me is the one that will be picked first..

Yea, we heard that about Danielson, when they go over to Euroland the game changes, their USA-ian Teet will not be there.

Also he couldn't have expected the team to have such a slow start to the European season. Will he be riding Vuelta a Colombia? Not sure where their next big goals might be apart from that.

Yeah Atapuma looks pure class. He'll have his choice of teams I would imagine.

Just saying don't go overboard, lets see what he does as a Statiegier (sp?) first over in Europe and if he gets a contract and actually like living over there, then the talk should commence.
