This Vuelta should be epic. A duel between Contador v Froome v Cobo v New Revelation Random Dude. Should be great :)

Haha :p

I think last year it was reproted that Cobo and Froome rode one the fastest ever Angrilu beating Contador's previous best time there. If they come with the form they had last year I am sure it won't be easy for him :)

you are wrong. cobo was faster then contador over the last 6k but no the entire climb. froome was slower then contador on both aspects, 2 minutes slower overall or so.

Also, here is the 2008 Angliru stage:

and the 2011 Angliru stage:

Note how the former is 65km longer and has more, and tougher, climbs. It may be no wonder Cobo was able to ride the last few km of the climb faster.

Indeed, W/kg without context is useless and the context of Vuelta data is always short one climb stages, so no wonder the numbers appear very high.

In this case, the 65k extra is what, 1h30 more on the saddle. So no direct comparison is plausible.

From De Standaard / Het Nieuwsblad, exclusive interview with A.C. :

Very short sumary : "Not sure if he participates at Eneco, wants to ride ITT and roadrace in Valkenburg, sees more possibilities in WC 2013 & 2014 and prepares very intensily for Vuelta"

I doubt it as he will be too tired from giro/tour/Olympics + last year was exhausted during vuelta after doing the tour

Ummm, he pulled out with Goss because the HTC team had a illness going around camp....

He will not finish the Tour as well.

He'll do it, even the first week to get a stage win and go into records as one of few riders that one a stage in each GT in just one year.

A obvious goal would be to win multiple stages in each gt. How many have done that in 1 year?
