A Woody Whisper:

Word around the peloton is that Cadel has rediscovered his top form and will be a real force to be reckoned with in the Giro.

You heard it here first.

Really when did that happen because from what I've seen he has no form

My point was that we dont know how Wiggins is going to perform this year, last year is last year, this is new season, new training, new motivation.
Lets wait for Trentino.

edit: sorry,i forgot to quote

I doubt Trentino will tell us very much about Wiggin's real form, considering there's no TT in there and he's not going there with his main Giro d'Italia domestiques which he will probably be relying a lot on.

He does have form, it's just that it has been bad form. But that bad form is now becoming good form and I hear that a pink BMC is currently being manufactured for him to ride in the Giro.

I soooo hate to say this, but Wiggins and rest of the BORGS will dominate this, to believe Wiggins will not be in GC shape is just and utterly wishful thinking.

Can only hope Astana are smart enough to team up with a couple of the other contenders like Katusha and Moviestar, otherwise its game over!

Most thought for sure that Sky would easily win TA also, and look what happened there. ;)

The favourite doesnt always win. Doesnt mean it was the wrong prediction. If Wiggins is a 70/30 favourite (pulled that number out of thin air) over Nibali then that doesnt mean he will win all the time.

Anyway, it was just one bad day in terrible weather that ruined it for sky in TA. That wont be enough to break them in the Giro.

Bad weather on Stelvio alone could be enough.

Yeah, Pretty much the point I was making.
To the bolded: No, one day like that isn't going to make or break the entire Giro for Sky. But TA just just goes to show you, no matter how much something seems like a sure thing, there's always someone who can pull off an upset.

And if Wiggins cracks hard on one of the really hard mountain stages, then Nibali very well could use that one day to put big time on him.

Wiggins might lose some time on that stage, but not too much i think. The 20 km flat before the final climb annoys me.

Ulissi is apparantly not riding he is going to do the Vuelta. I dont know why.

My guess - he doesn't seem to like riding for anyone else and Scarponi would/should be the outright leader at the Giro, so send him to the Vuelta as Lampre could do with Ulissi picking up some points elsewhere.

So for Sky's Giro squad I think we're looking at 9 from the following 11:

Wiggins, Uran, Henao, Cataldo, Siutsou, Lopez, Kennaugh, Zandio, Knees, Pate, Puccio

Sky seem to have tweaked Siutsou's race programme over the last month so I think it's now a possibility that he rides the Giro. Recent interviews as good as completely rule out Porte and Kiryienka so they're not included. Puccio is a wild card but he's been going quite well this season plus he's Italian.
