Neither Pirazzi, Rabottini, Sella, Garzelli, Di Luca, Pellizotti, Weening, Rubiano, Atapuma, Duarte, Visconti are challeging for the KOM

What does Viviani think he's doing - just trying to get away from Cavendish for a few hours? :D

I think KOM will be won on Tre Cime stage, only Stelvio stage has 2 climbs excluding finish.

Garmin with a plan to do something on the first col? Strange break for a first mountain stage also.
Perhaps, since they're sending Millar in the break I imagine Hesjedal wants to attack over the first col then get paced by Millar. At least that's what I hope happens ;)

Looking at that break I think we can definitely expect some counters from sub-toppers/stage hunters on the penultimate climb.

It's not all that unusual, if they have a nice advantage at the bottom of the penultimate climb he can ride at his own pace and then rather than already being in the gruppetto he may get to the final climb in the 2nd to last group instead. Slippage room.

Guardini also did this in the Pampeago stage last year to have a headstart against peloton

I can not believe that there is guys here thinking that henao/uran will get free role in this giro.

I would love to see it, but in the team sky, there is only one goal, wiggins in pink. Any other result is a BIG failure for them.
Sky will not let Henao ride for himself or give him the domestiques until ALL hope is lost for Wiggins. By that time it will be too late.

and machado is only 15 minutes in the GC ....this is suicidal by the peloton

Meh, the break clearly has only a minimal chance of succeeding, I wouldn't be worried.

I'm afraid this will be Monte Terminillo all over gain with lots of tactical riding between the GC riders. Where is Stortoni by the way?
Anyway, I would like this break to stay away in order to see how the hell would Machado fail to reach the top 10 in a sprinters break taking on a MTF.
Also, what is Bennati trying to do? The invisible men on the tough sprints he should've been at now is on a doomed break. He should be with Majka instead.

Rafael Valls for the win :p
