71 HESJEDAL Ryder CAN GRS 4:58:35 20:53

I'm guessing that Hesjedal is well beyond the point of giving up. More mental, than physical? I'm skeptical that he'd lose that much time just from not having the legs.

What will hapen if Sky name Uran as the team leader now? Will Wiggo pack up and go home to train for TdF, or will he stay and be a man and ride to support Uran.

he can still train in Gio, that is hias intention from the beginning of the race

Wiggo and Ryder can share a taxi. No. Wiggo won't quit I don't think.

I am just hoping they are peaking for the last week... Especially in light of gesink being pretty bad at romandie. (Wishful thinking!)
Gesink doesn't get better during races. I think it's quite worrying that right now he's not better than at the Vuelta last year, where he just returned from a crash in the Tour and did no specific preparation.

What the hell does that guy Delahaye make them do on these altitude training camps?

I was wondering the same. No prep as good as 3 week altitude camp... then what's the altitude camp good for?

what on earth happened to ryder? he came after juanjo...
He was coughing a lot, he probably caught a flu or something. Lots of riders in the peloton who have been or are sick. The "lucky" ones were ill early, such as Wiggins and Cataldo...

Mollema will now go on an altitude camp for the Tour as well, for the first time. Prepare for fail.

It's bad enough when we see team politics inhibit riders but this is even worse.

In this situation it should be dog eat dog.

Not saying I agree with his thinking or applaud it in every instance.

I don't think Delhaye is the problem, Gesink just get's weaker every year, he peaked in 2010, and got worse after that (like so many Dutchmen who peak at roughly age 25).

Kruijswijk seems to go backwards as well

Yes, but Gesink seemed better in Catalunya (even returning from a cold) then he does since the training camp.

This thing about Betancur not catching Uran because he is Colombian stinks for me, I can't see him being 100% honest here. He caught Pantano on Sunday thinking he would win the stage.

Plus he needed the boni seconds against Majka so he should have ridden 100% all the way which I think he actually did, but came up with an excuse. Maybe he believes it as well but after the last stage it soesn't seem likely.

I think he will stay and continue to ride for himself, although he can't expect so much support any more.

AG2R seems to have the most manpower in the end:D, but did not make anything out of it. They should have a better strategy

One thing is clear, Nibali certainly isn't bossing the climbs. 2 hard weeks ahead of him.

Really? That's the one thing that became clear to you watching this stage?
Nibali played the part of GC leader to absolute perfection. Tactically excellent, resulting with him distancing all his main rivals.

He finished on same time as Evans. It was only the time bonus that helped him. Agree he was very strong but it's a long way to go.
