To be honest, I'm not sure if it's in his nature NOT to at least try. I'd ask the question "what would Wiggins least like me to do?" and then do it. Anything that takes the Sky machine out of its comfort zone is all to the good.

It is an inequal fight by default if one fearless attacker will fight again a 80 guy fresh peloton. A GC contender never does such a thing so early IMO, no matter how good his descendng skills are

In general you are right, but in this stage it doesn't really matter how many riders are in the bunch. If Nibbles attacks he has to pull for a grand total of 2 kms.

Also to think from Sir Bradley's poiint of view - he might as well let Nibs take a dig today and maybe get some time out of it as well coz he knows come TT he can double push and take significant time. So why risk it today especially when its raining?
