His last great TT was the defining TdF stage '11.

And that was his first really great TT for two years, and is nearly two years ago.

My sincere hope is that there is absolute carnage, and that Nibali does what he did in Tirreno. I also sincerely hope, that if Wiggo is left behind, Uran and Henao can go for it without having to wait.

yes, '11 was indeed special for Evans and related Australian events.

The flying horse getting the wings clipped and the rise of the explosives outfit.

A bit more messy this year. Hard to predict.

Btw, Pirazzi will probably upset Visconti's plans today methinks. He (Pirazzi) really should learn from the old dog Garzelli and tank an early stage. The chase will now be on somewhat.

Uran and Henao are adding a juicy sub-plot to this race.I'll be watching them carefully tomorrow, their little Colombian soap opera is fast becoming the conundrum of the 2013 Giro.Hope Uran drops Wiggins in the mountains next week, in a blatant show of defiance to Sky management, kids on he's confused, slows down for Wiggins like Froome did on La Toussuire, then just goes full gas while his leader flounders, winning the Giro in the process.Unlikely but fingers crossed.
Looking forward to some Sir Wiggo and Colombians drama. :)

I'm thinking there are going to be some serious testing attacks starting at the 50 km to go mark. If Wiggins shows any weakness at all you can expect someone will take the bait and it will be game on for the GC guys a little further down the road. Of course Sky might let them kill themselves to gain half a minute and hope they are so tired they lose more than that in the TT. One thing for sure there will be mind games a plenty tomorrow. Should be fun to watch. Evans for the win.

I'm siding with Evans tomorrow also, along with Il Killer.Couple of wildcards with no GC aspirations.

I think Evans is the joker here. He's the only guy who doesn't risk a lot riding into the ITT tired, as I don't think he plans on winning the TT or being competitive for a podium come the end of the Giro. So why not push and see how much time you can take out of Wiggins in a stage where your strengths are his perceived weaknesses.

Nibali and others will do nothing because there's a 55km tt tomorrow and they need all the strength to limit damage to wiggins in the itt
Nibali will attack at the first sign of weakness of Sir Wiggo, regardless of the ITT.

Anybody knows the weather forecast for tomorrow?

Brailsford on the stage:
"It's hard, it's a very, very hard stage" "It's one of the real typical hard stage of the Giro similar to the stage at Tirreno-Adriatico [where Sky's Chris Froome lost the overall lead – ed.], so everybody will know that it is a hard stage but also we want to make sure that no time is lost going into the time trial."

i want one of the Colombians to win the stage (not necessarily from sky). But, I think this is the perfect stage for sky to send Henao (or Uran) in all out attack, make every one else chase, and the wiggins (and the other Colombian) just mark wheels....but doubt this will happen....so maybe Betancourt or Duarte (although havent seen much of him lately)

Agreed,if Lo Squalo sees 30-40 secs there for the taking he'll go full attack mode,it'll be interesting to see how Sky play it if Wiggins is below par in any way.

I believe that Uran and Henao are more loyal than what you think.

I don't like them working for Wiggins but they will follow orders in my opinion.

Having said that, it makes a lot of sense to send one of them up the road to make other teams work and Wiggins just follow wheels.

Expecting some teams to try and get their secondary threats up the road early - like Morabito, Karpets, Niemiec, hopefully (unlikely) Aru, Kruijswijk & Danielson would be let ride aggressively too...

Scarponi will be on attack for sure as well - what after his lost seconds in Stage 3. Samu may do the same and so does "crazy" Hesjedal.

This is absolutely horrible stage for riding "tempo" and very hard to control.

Tasty!

last man standing from the break to win, with GC contenders keeping their powder dry for the ITT. Perhaps some late attempts for time on Wiggins if he get isolated, but only if some serious time can be gained. No point going full gas for 30seconds or the like.

Would be hilarious to see another 2010 monster break get away and collect 10-15mins though too

The usual suspects on the Chieti stages of the Tirreno-Adriatico: Nibali, Evans, Scarponi, Di Luca. Would expect Scarponi to go on the attack with Di Luca if not Evans as well, although the latter would maybe doom the move, being so close on GC.

I also think Scarponi, and Hesdejel want to do something, other favorites will be forced to join the party

I noticed Miguel Rubiano Chavez conveniently dropped time yesterday.

Assuming it wasn't because he crashed (anyone know?) that would seem to point to him getting in the break today.

If he does then the stage is his to lose.
