"Henao some say will be leading sky at the end of this year.

Though i think rigoberto uran is the more likely of the 2 colombians to step clear"

If the first part is for climbers, then how is Dowsett leading by a huge margin? Isn't he an absolutely horrible climber?

Targetted the stage. Good at cornering and descending. Early starter-potentially different conditions.

About "yesterday's sacrifice of Colombians" :

Just re-watched the 7th stage - few notes :

1) Wiggins was distanced and both Colombians accompanied him already in ascent of San Silvestro. The time difference between Stefano Pirazzi (leader of "main pack" at the time and Bradley Wiggins entering the corner where Wiggo went down (as did Sella for his 2nd trip to tarmac) was already 40-45 seconds.

2) Uran&Henao were with Wiggo at that point so they were no longer with the elite group. They might have been ABLE to be if let free earlier, but they were DEFINITELY NOT called back from Nibali-Hesjedal-Cadel-Samu-Santambrogio pack.

3) Actually Wiggins finished on same time as the guys who dropped him when he fell and on downhill after that. Guys like Ignatenko, Simoes Oliveira and Ziets are clearly visible around Bradley and he caught them on line.

4) So the effects of crash appear time-wise not so important and Uran did not lose a yellow due call-back (maybe due staying on Wiggo's side earlier though).

5) Calling Colombians to wait for Wiggins was NOT a big tactical blunder. Not to give at least one of them free rein earlier might have been...

As long as they don't draft eachother, you can't force one of the two riders to let the other one go, even though they are clearly very very close to eachother in ability.

They are drafting off each other constantly. But yeah, ****ty situation, there are only so many lines you can safely take on the road.
