Indeed, I was shouting insulting words towards Gesink at my TV, due to his seemingly stupidity of leading out everyone...but in the end, that's surely the best tactic when you're so much stronger than everyone else.

Hopefully the Dutch won't put too much pressure on him now going into the worlds, because then I'm sure he'll collapse :(

Is it that hard to understand? Prior to this, Gesink was a bargain. Now he might still be a reasonable buy, but he's a lot less alluring. No one *expected* anything, their shortlists include half the peloton and they're just reacting to what happened.

Well after AGR last year (18th) I still think he really has it in him. But he's had a lot of bad luck lately. Ofcourse you don't read about it because nobody cares, but he's had a run of injuries this season

I mean cmon, you can hardly blame him for being hit by a car in the race...

I don't mean this incident particularly, but really, the way he rides these days is living proof that *clinic material* does work.

What's up with Froome having start number 1, instead of the defending champion Lars Petter Nordhaug? :confused:

I thought World Tour races were obliged to give number 1 to the defending champion if that rider was present...

Beacuse Sky was his team last year, might work this way here.

i don't understand
shouldn't earn their salaries ?

imo a team that doesn't have at least 5 minutes at the front of the peleton, in any race, it's wasting their sponsor money

riding 5 minutes at the front will wont kill them , its not like they chasing a break 150km on their own

and considering how bad their were after TdF maybe they have team tactics of showing they are still alive lol
