If Sagan attacks on the Poggio and is brought back, it means that the pace is way too high for the sprinters to get over Poggio, which in turn means that Sagan will just win the reduced bunch sprint.

I think it more likely that Rodriguez and/or Nibali will push on the Poggio to try drop the sprinters. Sagan might lose some time but will be the closest of the fast men, and if he can catch back on (perhaps with Cancellara), he'll win, provided the whole thing doesn't come back together.

Nibali will attack on the Poggio, that's a given, but Purito, like D and C said, won't be competing.

When was the last time anything stuck from the Cipressa? It's too easy to organise a chase between the bottom of the descent and the Poggio unfortunately.

Was it 1996, with the group with Colombo and Sciandri?

I really don't see Sagan Attacking on the Poggio as some are suggesting. Of course he will be near the front and cover moves from his rivals, but it would be stupid and way too risky for him to attack and ride solo.

Regarding Purito, i can't see him gapping Sagan on Poggio. The climb isn't very steep and I believe it suits the more powerful riders better (Sagan, Cancellara, Gilbert (Not sure of his shape))

Sagan will ride away with others on Poggio. Nibali and Pippo IMO.

There is no point of riding away on the poggio if you cant hold the gap to the finish. Sagan cant do it on his own. Only cancellara can stay away from a chasing peleton because of his power on the flat. Evidence of this is last year's race. Had nibali and gerrans been without canc they would have been swallowed up by the peleton.

Sagan, Nibali and Pippo would be able to defend the time they get on the ascent and descent on the flat.

Not really. I dont see pippo collaborating only to pull sagan to a win. Nibali will since he has no chance in the sprint whatsoever. Nibali and sagan pulling with pippo sitting om sagans wheel will get them nowhere.

The strongest teams in my view are BMC, OGE and OPQS.

If Nibali does attack on the Cipressa descent i expect Moser to go with- Sagan needs a hard race and other team like Radiosahck and Astana will also help.

Anyone know Gavazzis' form??? even though Astana should ride for Nibali.

the weather doesn't agree with you. i don't think it will be fast

and especially if it will rain, nibali will attack on cipressa, because on cipressa descent it will be chaos

delfino and voeckler to attack on cipressa too!

Climbers needs to pull out a 1996 Cipressa to have a shot imo

agree, and they are starting to understand this. Not just for this edition but in general. Nibali is not a placement rider, winning is the only deal. Same with Voeckler etc. The idea of a climber going on Poggio is pointless.
