When does global warming get to Europe so we can have some cycling?

I don't know. The weather is beyond ridiculous though, again. Cold winters, cold summers for years now :(

Time for a quick injection or transfusion???

It´s ciinic talk, so I´ll be quiet after this post clinic wise - Mod, please don´t delete :)

Auscyclefan pointed at an intersting issue. Indeed, the riders who got, for example, cortisone before the race, now have a problem. It takes some kilometers (and car time doesn´t count, due to inactivity) to work well, so the benefits might be not as they were planned to be.
Effects of other substances might be affected, too.

So, back to race talk.

I would go and live in Australia if the economy wasn't doing so well, nothing better than a bit of moaning and saying it's not your fault that you don't have a job :p

Because of bad weather, the climb and descent of the Turchino will be neutralized and riders will bus it from km 117 to km 163

What does that mean? they ride to km 117 then they get in the bus to km 163? o_O

Furthermore, I apologize to all the people here who were sceptical about the weather. I didn´t believe it would be this serious with the snow, and I was wrong.

It will make an interesting finale even more spectacular and non-predictable. Boasson Hagen e.g. could benefit from this very well, he prefers 200-250 over 260-300 km.

Back in the days of Hinault, the badger would just resist to step into the car and attack the peloton at the foot of Turchino... :D

Well, even with the neutralised kms the race will be 252 kms long...

But yes you have a point.

252km in current conditions is surely harder than 298 km in 15 C sun and light breeze.
Wonder how the break affects the riders tho..

Any .. marginal gains.. for certain teams or certain riders in terms of recovery from the weather?

But they´ll get their reward in the San Remo spring sun, at least i hope so.

For the Classicissima veterans like Hondo, Petacchi, Tosatto, this is something they certainly never experienced throughout their years.

The African guys of MTN must think they get crazy, also greek Tamouridis from Euskaltel is his biggest race ever.

For Sagan chance to win his first monument in an edition one will never forget.
