The two things are not comparable at all. And it's not just because he has good palmares, but because he is *the* best current rider. It doesn't suit a champion to whine. Boonen whined.

There's no tactical advantage to be gained to ride at the back of a major one day race as chaotic as Milan-San Remo. He needs to move to the front of the peloton before they hit the foot of the Cipressa. If you have good legs you ride at the front, simple as.
