ciolek was not sprinting that great. cancellara almost came neck to neck with him in the sprint.
If cancellara was behind sagan, then he might have beaten sagan.

The biggest advantage of ciolek was that he was the unknown in the group. The guys knew that sagan, cancellara were going to be bothering abt each other. Stannard did try to make use of it, but he attacked too often. ciolek was intelligent to stay in the wheels of cancellara or sagan consistently and go for the kill only sagan tried to charge.

Have to really see whether this chap can take any more classics frm now on, though.

Ciolek won. but mostly because he was the only one capable to making the final charge.

At least I didn't have to see a pompous oaf rubbing his victory in someone's face once again and then declaring it isn't what it looks like. The look on Sagan's face at the end. PRICELESS. Of the front group, given their respective careers, Ciolek and Chavanel most deserved the win. Ciolek has been on the bottom end of a lot of crap and being overlooked since joining HTC years ago.

Ciolek followed Sagan on when he made his move. Along with Cancellara. Neither did anything wrong. Cancellara certainly doesn't need to tow Sagan to another win. He's done that before. Add in the weather and it didn't look like Cancellara was going to power past anyone. Gave it a whirl and then realised Sagan would latch on.

When that didn't happen my first thought was Ciolek would win. Sagan did a little too much work. Stannard did a lot as well. Pozzato just sat on as well. I didn't see him take any giant turns either. Guy with the best strategy for the conditions won. Ciolek is a solid sprinter. If someone else had of worked a bit to relieve Sagan the result might have been different. Or he could have started the sprint later.

In the end it doesn't matter. Ciolek deserves a win like this and Sagan can carry on his senseless act of rubbing his wins in others faces later on. He's going to win plenty more races this year anyway. Ciolek? Not likely. It's also good to see Chavanel going to first in the top ranked rider on the pro tour. Not bad.

No, it's too hard watching the strongest pull the fastest to victory.

It's Milan - Sanremo, the race isn't hard enough for the absolute strongest man to win all the time. Ciolek cops some flak for not working but what if it's a bunch sprint and Kristoff wins?

Cancellara didn't do anything because he had nothing in the tank (only cramps). Get over him not wanting to cooperate with Sagan, even if he wanted, he couldn't. Enough said!

That time of the month? Maybe he should take some Midol before the races?

Ciolek rode a smart race. He had no reason to pull and knows he has a good sprint.

Once Nibs abandoned I had no dog in the fight.....it became Anybody But Sky :)

From what I saw Fabu played the cards he had well; two big digs couldn't get away. Probably didn't have the legs for a 3rd try.

Sagan Very Strong; started his sprint to early, maybe youthful overconfidence.

Ciolek overlooked, rode wheels used his best weapon his speed and took the win.

Chavanel rode a great race, just didn't have enough left.

Stannard well scratching head.....suddenly Sky has multiple classics riders.

Phinney, when he grows up this kid is going to be something very special :)

Canc will get 2nd or 3rd in both RVV and PR this year.

And here we go again

Canc made Sagan lose by closing the gap otherwise sagan would have solo'd but no way that Canc could win this regardless.

Better a podium, then DNS or DNF (matter of interpretation ;))

Did you hear what boonen said today?

i heard he said so many riders abandoned, and restarted again.
but i don't see how so many riders can abandon and enter the team cars.
i think many had lost contact with the main field, and once they arrived in Ovada, they steppend on the buses and restarted on the other side of turchino

Not released yet, shouldn't be too long now, but RCS always slow (apart from the Giro).
