maybe so, but surely they can find 7 stages of interest (roads or surroundings) in that vast country.

Anyway the racing is likely to be good. Sort of parcours one would generate on a computer perhaps.

Libertine seguros found some good climbs that would make the race great. The good stages have to take place in the south but like past years they can start in the centre of the country and do 3 sprinters stages before the medium mountains. I thought that was a great formula. Even better if they make the Warsaw stage a prologue. Or they could add 1 or 2 of the small cobbled climbs into the circuits in Warsaw and Krakow.

Was a nice little race. Especially since there's no single mtf to tear the race apart so they need to rely more on an ardennes formula.

now it's a bit stupid. half of me hopes Evans wins so tthey have to start next year in Australia.

WTF? Tour of Poland starting in Italy. Is it a tribute to Moser or is RCS involved in the organization?

Route is much tougher, probably a tad too excessive. With the introduction of the ITT, the nature of the race is altered. Perhaps they are hoping for a Kwiatowski victory. Length of the ITT is too much despite the 2 MTFs. around 25 KM would have been ideal.

What's with the short stages? Gotta be scared of the 80km stage featuring Les Gets.

They seem to cram a lot of stages into a small area.

And too bad that they are scared of the gravel. They should have climbed Glieres from the other side.

I'm liking the ToP route, nice and hilly. Should provide plenty of good racing. TT could be a bit shorter but the amount of MTF's should balance it out well enough.

Don't know what the big deal is about the race having 2 stages in Italy. IMO as long as the parcours for those stages are good, who cares that they go into another country.

It would be like Tour of California having most of its key stages located in Mexico. Makes no sense really.

When other races go to other countries, the stages tend to be incidentals, spreading the love but ensuring the core of the race is on home soil.

This is like including Ventoux in the Eneco Tour - perfectly good stage in and of itself, but means the race is determined away from the supposed core.

who cares i could watch dolomiti all day long .if they could,i wish they'll put them in amissa bongo too or even tour down under

pordoi+madonna di campiglio+long itt=perfect route for a week long stage race and a delight for me

Hello everyone, good to be here, looks like you have a nice forum going.

Anyone care to speculate about the race program of Michele Scarponi? He looked good in Paris-Nice until a defect cost him 8 minutes. Then snagged a podium place in Catalunya. What's his next race and what GT's do you think he'll do this year?

Thanks

Wouldn't he be on the start list by now if he was riding the Pais Vasco?

Indeed. Unless Ilovecycling know something we don't (no snark intended), there's no Scarponi on Lampre-Merida for Pais Vasco. Cunego and Ulissi are heading the team.

Scarponi on his return didn't mention anything about doing Pais Vasco. He did say he was doing Trentino before the Giro.
