Yeah surely they want to control an 18 man group with talansky on their own.

With a little help from Saxo and Belkin they can easily keep that group around 7 minutes or so, no need for Sky to really work hard with that group.

No way Saxo and Movistar would help Sky, not at this moment. If Sky starts chasing early, there might be possibilities for these two teams later in the stage.

They will help if the gap gets too big.

I don't think so. It's way too early to think about cooperating with Sky.
It' all down to the third week.

Sending 1-2 people to keep a break at a safe 8 minute advantage isn't the same as cooperating with Sky.

But they wouldn't need to keep the leading group within one minute. I'm pretty sure Sky would gladly slow down and let the 18 guys in front open a gap of 5-6 minutes.

I think we can talk about potential co-operation with Sky when the break is away for good. Gap is down to 34 seconds, I'm not sure everyone in the break is fully motivated or confident that this move will stick, they might want to save some gas and try again.

I bet, none of them will be seen today on the front to control or chase them.
We'll see in a few hours.

Phil picked Cavendish and Paul picked Greipel. I think they have the wrong profile.

By their commentary they clearly thought everyone was going to take it really easy with Ventoux coming up.
