Col de Manse descent to La Rochete, before turning again to Gap into the finish:

Col de Manse descent as of 2011 Tour de France (with rain)

Mountain passes and hills with categorized mountain sprints:

Km 17.5 - Côte de la Montagne de Bluye5.7 kilometre-long climb at 5.6% - category 3
Km 48.0 - Col de Macuègne (1 068 m)7.6 kilometre-long climb at 5.2% - category 2

Tempratures should reach 25-26º Celcius / 77-78º Fahrenheit without any relevant wind. There is 55% chance of rain.

OP's opinion is the break will reach the finish and Voeckler will win.

Please feel free to share any relevant info so i can add it to the original post.

If stage doesn't get any interesting, try and count the amount of chateaux on the way till Gap.

A chance for some of the anonymous riders who have done nothing the last 2 weeks.

This stage has breakaway written all over it. Tommy V hasn't had the legs over the big climbs in this Tour so this could be his one and only shot.

Forecast is not good so we might be in luck.

Would love to see Valverde go in the break to salvage something for himself from this Tour, and he's far enough down that it's not inconceivable.

Someone from the days break will take this stage.

Valverde/Costa could try, Nieve/Astarloza/Anton could try. Voeckler/Rolland could try. Roy/Fedrigo could try. Chavanel could try too.

Sagan will probably be tired, and there's no point for Liquigas to chase this back, as a climber will attack and will solo away. So it wouldn't surprise me if Liquigas try and get Moser into the break.

So many options.

Either way, I can't see someone from the peloton winning as there is no point for teams to make it hard.

I pray to the gods of cycling, bring down water from the heavens and make it pour. Then it's up to Movistar and Saxo to bring the hurt. :D

Some kind of breakaway to take it I think, Chavanel, Kadri, Vichot, Sagan good bets I think. Would be a good idea for Gilbert to try his luck in the break too IMO. And would be cool to see Bakelants go in the break again, but might be a little tired.

Jon Izagirre! Thats wishful thinking.

More serious prognosis, first French victory - Fedrigo.

I am hoping an Euskaltel rider will take it.

Hesjedal might seek redemption after his fail in 2011 and maybe Boasson-Hagen will try to make amends for his 2nd place to Thor, although, Sky won't let him.

Riders in the 2011 break into Gap racing in this tour are; Hesjedal, Boasson-Hagen and Roy.

Really? It looked a pretty tricky in the rain in 2011.

Not more difficult than the Pailheres downhill. Yes, it has less 180 grade turns but the road is wide which doesn't create big obstacles.
