If he wasn't going full gas why did he bother to change to a bike with bigger gear etc for the descent. Bull****. Also Contador said he didn't go 100% on the descent cos he was scared of crashing again after yesterday. Again I don't believe that to much (might have taken a few corners easy but that's it)

He changed bikes because that was the best thing to do. Why spin a massive cadence on a descent because your on too low a gearing?

Kittel is 85 Kilos. If he'd drop 8 Kilos he'd give Froome a run for his money:eek::eek:
I'm also surprised he did so well on such a difficult TT. That said, lets not forget he was known more as TTer as a U23 and he's actually climbed a bit better than usual during the Tour.

Contador rode a disc over 2 climbs. Normal road bike + TT bike would have been much better. Would have spent a lot more energy pushing that disc up the climbs the way he was dancing on his pedals
Agreed. Might have cost him the win.

Tranquilo. Very happy.

Froome did exactly as much as he needed to do. Increasing his time advantage wasn't necessary, just winning the stage.

Better to safe energy and write cycling history tomorrow to win on Alpe d'Huez in addition to Ventoux and possibly complete the MTF quadruple. Achievements that are very nearly unpredecented in the history of the sport.

I agree with you and believe Froome when he says he didn't quite go full gas. As much as I'd like to think he's beginning to fade, it's more important for him to win tomorrow than today's TT.

He saved energy by not winning by as much as he could have if he had given 100%. That's how I interpret what I saw today anyway; feel free to disagree.

froome definitely hasnt been saving energy. he wasted as much if not more than contador surly and way more than others in the top ten gc

Contador rode disc wheel so clearly it wasnt just - bjarne says you have to use road bikes.

Agree but I guess it was his recommendation that they didnt change bikes. But clearly Contador would have demanded for a bike change if he felt that was the best thing to do
