Just looked at the odds for tomorrow and Froome is Massive favourite to win.

I must be insane to think anyone else has a chance.:(

If it rains it will change very quickly, better keep an eye to see if the odds change, especially if you have a few quid in the pot.

Ofcourse Froome Dawg, but what about Mollema and Ten Dam?Who will be fastest of these two Belkin riders?maybe this will sort out teaam leadership?my money is on Mollema?thoughts?

mollema and ten dam are racing for second place. So it doesn't matter who's the fastest. Even lil' richie kinda laugh at their goal.

"I didn't know Ten Dam was.. how far back was he? If they want to ride for second place, then good on them. I'll support them in that."

Of Course. But you can always lay the favourite on the exchanges. At just under 2:1 ON its already good enough for me. If Froome doesn't win it you get £2.10 for every £1 at risk ;)

Goodbye £1's :(

Martin is a solid climber and should it start to rain later in the afternoon, he will benefit of his start time at 12.39. The final descent towards the line is very fast the riders should be able to reach a speed of about 80 km/h. I keep my Top 3 for Tony.

Solid climbing will get you nowhere on irregular ascents like these. Rain might help him finish within top 15-20, though.

Will be interesting to see which of Nieve or Rolland will be the fastest rider of the field at the first intermediate since they want those KOM points (they know they don't descend well enough to be in contention for the second intermediate to take the points of the second climb so I expect them to go all out on the first climb which should give them the edge on Froome/Quintana who while climbing better so far will have to balance their TT more carefully for GC reasons).

LOL @Rolland. No way.

Ok ok... Tony Martin will not be near the top on this ITT...

Martin plays down time-trial chances

"If I say I am going to win on Wednesday, I might as well say that I am also capable of winning at L'Alpe d'Huez," admitted Martin, with a nod to the unclassified climb on which Thursday's 18th stage will finish.

"With the right motivation and if the circumstances are perfect, then I could get lucky, but this is not a classic time-trial."

The descent is a harder than average by technical difficulty but it is definetely not Mortirolo or Pra Martino.

Latest weather forecasts says quite heavy shower for the GC-contenders:

Expecting some crashes from the risk-taking GC-guys.

Only few drops or even dry road for the first guys could mean competitive times from the morning guys.

But it depends. If the heavy rain starts just ½-1 hour later than forecasted, the whole bunch will be rather safe.

Coincidentally the weather map doubles as a profile of the parcours :D

Are you serious? It's a 2nd category climb so only 5 points for the first. The only way for them to have a shot at the polka dot is to beat Froome or Quintana in Alpe d'Huez or Semnoz where the points are doubled, which is highly unlikely

Evans has said he is going to take it easy on today's stage in order to try to do something in coming stages.

He also thinks that a fall for Alberto could make it a bit more harder for his body to recover.

No chance for him to win one or the remaining stages.Yesterday was his best chance imo.He could followed Costa on climb and beat him in sprint. On Alpe or Semnoz I don't think he has the legs.

Where did you see Evans will soft pedal?
In his diary entry.

Tomorrow, a very very challenging individual time trial. Two solid climbs with a mix of technical and fast descending and a flat fast finish just to make the equipment choice even more difficult. I will not going 'flat-out' so I might actually be able to appreciate the beautiful surrounds...

If there is 3.7mm of rain between one interval and another 3.7mm of rain in the second interval, then the accumulation of rain will mean the conditions will be worse for the second set of riders.

That's the forecast for Thursday. But if it was for today, it would actually mean equal conditions: The first interval is from 11-14 and the next is from 14-17.
