I loved the attack of Froome. Going in the last 200meters of the hill all alone with still 10k left while Contador and evans still has several teammates left :D

Even the dog that just escaped death has more brains ;)

That was btw so close man, the dog would have certainly died and the crash in the peloton would have been worse than yesterday.

Nice win for Bakelants.

Evans and teammates are never together when it's uphill, I didnt see any BMC rider with him

Gilbert and van garderen already for sure and yea even tj would ride if Froome is on the front.

Contador had roche, kreuziger, bennatti and rogers. Maybe even more saxo's.

Cannondale would also go after him, same as garmin.

Froome was testing this downhill skill, please, stop belittling him.

The dog though, could have caused several broken collarbones today, what a near miss, pheeeww....

Just completely honest and described his attack perfectly. Was clearly elated and spoke from the heart instead of "blah blah I think the team has a job to do but we can hold onto this for a few days".

I've watched his dutch interview just now and he's superhappy and sees this as a response for the people saying he always races dumb.

Edit: i still can't believe the dog evaded that, that was pretty scary.

Tony Martin coming to the finish line. Looks like he had good company alongside Kittel. Chapeau Tony! I cant imagine how hard it would have been for him to ride and finish today.

Missed it, what did he say?

Paraphrasing: I knew I wasn't going to win in a bunch sprint, I saw Flecha go and I know he always gives his all, so I went with him, Chavanel was with us so we had some power and we were quite well organized. A little way out from the line I saw I had about ten metres, and Chava was chasing, but no one else was doing any work, so I guess he decided he'd rather the win went to me than someone who was sitting in his wheel, so maybe he slowed it a little. The five were swallowed up by the bunch, but I went onto my 11 and managed to stay out. I'm really delighted, it's my first professional win. I've had some bad luck, and recently had a knee operation. And to win on the second stage has really taken the pressure off, and made our tour, especially as we don't have a sprinter.

He was clearly overjoyed to have won, and I'm delighted for him, all the more so that he's going to be in yellow tomorrow.

Loved the interview by Bakelants. Took a good while explaining how he attacked. Nice stuff. And what a win. Completely unexpected.

I loved the way he banged both his hands on his head lol...funny...but what a win for him. And what a stage.

Froome attack - not wise to my mind. Wasnt required at all. You cant be testing any skills now that the tour is on. That downhill wasnt easy. Why risk when there is nothing to gain?

Right on both. By no stretch of the imagination was that an attack, just a stretch of the legs for a few seconds before a descent.

Anyway, more important was that dog. That was literally inches from carnage and death for the dog. I hope the owner gets nicked. These punishments shouldnt be decided just on what the result is and because it was a near miss, all is forgiven and the dog is a celebrity for a day.
