At this point it doesn't matter how many support riders got dropped. There is no incentive to stay in the peloton. The gc guys only need 1 or 2 guys with them with a long decent and only a small bump at the end. They can just save energy for another day.
Also, many might still be under the effect of crashes from yesterday
