Thomas calls it... the fall left him really touched... That sucks would have been really nice to check his progression in this Tour...
Take 10-20 s of Sky's ttt time.

Another argument against the moronic discipline. Team leaders get rewarded/ punished on how bad their teammates fall in a mass crash:rolleyes:

Good point, I never thought of it that way... but then again, the leaders suffer a blow in general (also in normal stages) when their team mates are injured

Sure but you can normally cover the loss of one or two riders in normal stages. In a TTT it's just guaranteed lost time.

Not a direct penalty though. Even if you have no teammates (see Evans 2010 Giro), on a normal stage you can still keep up.

That's why i just hate TTT's especially if it's not day 1.

And apperently they'll do a 40 km TTT next year :(

Indeed, I agree with you... btw yesterday they had Maxime Monfort in the studio of Belgium's "La Une" right after the stage, and he said that in the TTT "without Cancellara we'll have 20 seconds less... uhm, I mean more of course"

OT, but who do we expect will take the TTT? EBH In yellow on stage 5?

Read up a few posts.

It seems that Martin is going ok so OPQS aren't out of the mix. BMC, Movistar and Garmin are the most likely contenders I reckon.

Ned Boulting ‏@nedboulting 2m

G (Thomas) starts today. But CT scan last night did show a small fracture to the pelvis.

Sky can still win, their margin just would be smaller.

Could be a tough start to the stage for those suffering stiffness from injury. If a break doesnt go away straight away then the speed could see someone get distanced. Peloton normally slows after the break goes but with this being a short stage and there being a yellow jersey and stage win at stake then maybe someone will push the pace along once the break goes.
