Well he's already won the green last year. Maybe he wants to test himself a few times against the best this tour (or win every single intermediate stage ). Remember how young he is, he still needs to find how to best use his incredible talent.

Duh... but which races, he can't be 100% from MSR to GdL and win in the cobbled / hill / sprint etc races every year. I believe he can win pretty much anything he sets his mind on (apart from a GT, at least so far) but he needs to focus to really rack up the big wins.
