3.º Theo Bos (Blanco)

There was a crash in the final. My two cents: Martens and Machado were pulling the sprint, for Bos and Nizzolo. Then someone crashed behind them?

Didn't Paul Martens once got really close in a T-A bunch sprint?

That was slightly uphill with a tough course, large peloton but lots of 'dead' riders there at the end.

Cavendish tweets :

So @frantisekrabon & @IljoKeisse rode 200km, alone, on the front today. Chapeau! A few guys jumped clear in last km. We couldn't close. 6th.

Looks like Martin got his mind on the TT. Good for him.
Sounds like a nice little finale.
On Eurosport 2 (?) tonight at 23.00 (CET) for 30 minutes. Unless snooker kills the program schedule.

So a Machado attack sticks at last?:p

Surprised by Bos's result. His transformation time seems over.

Blanco are having an incredible start to the early season. Slagter's performance was superb as was Boom in the Med. Now Martens & Boss!

Who have they got for tomorrow? A Bos sprint or a Kelderman / Vanmarcke breakaway effort? Great to see them doing so well after Rabo (partially) pulled the plug

Blanco got some very good riders on the team. They need to create results early in the season to have a chance of landing another sponsor in time. Very motivated and perhaps in little bit better form than the competition.

Stage 2 profile below (recap):

A larger group could attack early on the last climb. Other teams could have QS killing themselves trying to shut a big break down. Perhaps some action possible. Tougher stage coming and then the TT. Dunno.

looks like its too far from climb to finish (120km) so doubt a group could stay away unless it contained 10 or so strong guys? Bunch sprint again I reckon.

I'am sorry Tony Martin but it was a big mistake for you to come to Algarve, Machado will not let you win all TT this year
Try again next year

This was the same finish were Meersman and Gilbert won previous years.

Incredible that Bos finished 3rd, thought he wouldn't play a role here

The only thing in the way of Blanco was Rabobank. Is it possible that a sponsor makes such demands that the team will have such a bad time? Great start of the season. Let's hope they keep this up when the real season starts on Het Volk.
