The way i see it, these teams are carefully losing just enough to get away from the responsibility of wearing red.

I am betting now itself that nibali will manage to lose some 10-15 sec to get away from red jersey.
But only those with a chance to win should have the luxury to do this.

Didn't Majka have a mechanical before Mirador de Èzaro? So maybe he changed bikes, or maybe he got stuck at the back.

I didn't know about that. but if he had a mechanical wth 35 km to go, i would have thought that there would be a saxo train sent to him to pull him back.

i think radioshack believes that they have a chance, esp with zubeldia in top-10.

i think they should handover the jersey to some team with no GC interests, like an OPQS or an Argos, the kind of teams that are interested in stage wins only.

I don't think Majka was able to come back. Pinot also isn't mentioned (i don't see him in the stage results), but he was definitely at the front with some k to go.

So Nibs back in Red, Valverde still steady there while Purito is falling behind in the GC.....

And The Vuelta is yet to reach the real mountains.....

That's why I see my men Nibs & Uran being wise enough to wait until stage 8th to reveal themselves..

the official site is still only showing 106 riders.

So, I am guessing they have some "lost" riders and are trying to sort things out.

it would be embarassing, if they spot that horner didnt lose that 6 sec today.

Mørkøv Sørensen and Petrov was down by him, and it was really bad timing, but the saxo car is one of the first cars so he was not far from the bac of the peleton.

I saw him coming in. There was a little split, but not enough to gap him imho.

No. He should be around 40th after the results get corrected to include "missing" people

thank you for the correction. that's what i meant.

how long will it take them to spot the "missing" riders?

80 riders coming 14' 21" down. nearly 41% of riders coming together in an essentially flat race with a single 3rd cat climb @35 km from he finish.(@ half that distance was flat)

Thats a big WOW!!

Am wondering what will happen if they have a single cat 1 climb with 17km flat roads before finish
