nice to see Boeckmans again sprinting, haven't showed much yet this year...

Nice sprint by Bonifazio. He was 4th yesterday and 3rd today. And he has yet to turn 21.

Judging from this, one could say its one of the weakest sprinter fields in years, but that not really the case here.

Anyway congrats to Cav, he is building confidence.

That's why they sent him to this race, otherwise in Italy it would have been Cav smashing things and blaming team mates at each stage. :D

He was terrible yesterday, and even worse today. It's interesting, he seems to be getting progressively worse in his career.

Not that you aren't right about that, but the Belkin lead out man seemed to have problems with his bike when he was about to lead out Bos.

The bike was too slow ;)

No, it turns out Bos himself had gear problems. We'll see if in any stage in this race he can challenge Cav (my guess: no.)

The Cav show is about to end, at least for a day. Stage 3:

thumb_uc_201942_506_Hoehenprofil_Presidential_Cycling_Tour_of_Turkey_2014_-_Etappe_3.jpg

Stage is scheduled to end around 15:00 (CEST), TdR starts 14:45 and ends 17:30 so no conflict there.

Anybody with a non Cobo bid?

Just watched it. OPQS got the leadout wrong but no one punished them - Renshaw was on the front with 650 to go. 4th man did about 150m before pulling off.

Not sure about the Chichi hype - he came from behind with a massive draft and by the line Cav was pulling away after starting his sprint a little later than most.

Good they're racing Cav with his train all year this time, should avoid some of last year's nonsense when it really counts. Plug in Tony for 4th or 5th wheel and they're laughing.

You're saying they botched their train, and yet they should be confident? The best train in the world, Giant-Shimano's, isn't there... and OPQS are even getting outperformed here by notoriously bad sprint leadouts Belkin.

Where to begin...

- Yes, they should be confident, having lots of practice rather than just turning up in France and hoping for the best because they have the best legs.

- The botch was minor (the first rider on the road for the entire last 3km was OPQS).

- Belkin have not outperformed anyone.

You're trying to compare a train that's been together for at least two years to one that's been together for a couple of days. Cav hasn't had the same train for any length of time since last years tour and even that was different from the giro

I did not see today, but yesterday Bos was dropped off in a good position. Without being Bennati-lame he could have won that stage.

Seeldraeyers was 2nd on the climb last year, but his form doesn't appear good.

It's not like he had any form coming to this race last year, at least looking from results.

Looking closer, they are almost the same results he has now lol :D

it's not like he was really good in Turkey as well last year, there just was no competition at all.

Agree, Renshaw just saved OPQS days by doing a really long leadout.

Steegmans and Petachhi are not suitable for the 3rd and 4th man, as they really need a man who can do 1km really fast, but not 500m or less

Its not like the competition this year overwhelms either. Looks ripe for a surprise if Torku somehow fails.

Of course this man has been in play here before:

Battled with Seels and Zoidl in Austria last year.

Cavendish said that they did not expect the headwind in the last 2k, so everybody had to pull 200 meters longer.

Will be interesting to see if Yates (take your pick for which one) will be able to do sth.

Adam Yates. Simon just crashed out of the race.
Hopefully other youngsters will shine: Kudus, Parra, Manfredi. And Rebellin of course ;)
