Its a shame Froome gets no credit here for the great rider he is. Yes he's not stylish but with that gangly physique its not surprising. The fact is he gets the job done

Probably yes. Lack of technique only underlines how miraculously he is gifted physically.

Damn I'm watching the post race discussion on Sky and it beats everything that's been on Dutch TV for years in terms of cycling discussion. They actually give attention to non-countrymen, that's not something you will see ever (apart from stage winner) on the NOS.

And the commies are very good as well. I remember them from last year's Tour de Suisse, commentating for another station I cannot recall.

GC results:

1 Simon Spilak (Slo) Team Katusha 11:39:25
2 Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky 0:00:01
3 Rui Alberto Faria da Costa (Por) 0:01:02
4 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) 0:01:06
5 Mathias Frank (Swi) 0:01:10
6 Beñat Intxausti Elorriaga (Spa) 0:01:13
7 Jakob Fuglsang (Den) 0:01:14
8 Jesus Herrada Lopez (Spa) 0:01:40
9 Jon Izaguirre Insausti (Spa) 0:01:48
10 Andrew Talansky (USA) 0:01:50

I think it's obvious who will take overall this year....

Nice stage. Nice victory for Spilak.

Classsics are over. Sky is back in business.

One thing is prooved. Froome is not Wiggins and there is no chance he will lose some time in descant.

I am a little disappointed by Uran he should be there today if he wants to contest with boys like Quintana in one week.

He has been in Colombia and I think he is one of those riders who does not do very well after ''training'' in his home country.

Maybe Ryo Hazuki can enlighten us.

Jesus christ DT, you're smarter than that. It's pretty clear that everyone was taking it easy. No point in Nibbles attacking as he knows he has no chance against Froome in the TT. The fact that Birdsong who was clearly struggling with the descent stayed with Nibali and Costa shows that they weren't going full gas.

Seriously man - what a ridiculous post.

Can only laugh out big time on that. Fuglsang is a very good descender with his MTB background.

So? He was struggling and you could see that, often losing more than 8 meters on the the last rider in his group. Doesn't mean he always does.

And the winner: Michal 'Flower' Merckx.

i don't think so.

he was reported to be getting dropped in earlier climb. He had peaked for the Ardennes, so dont expect him to do well in the final TT.

but yeah, i would like to see him beat both panzer and dog.

Did he get a gap there?

No he was bought back eventually he had a little gap if he is so elit he would stay off front. He is better in wet you no that he has a lot of bottle on wet descents look at Giro crashed.

+1.

He has been taking it too easy since Oman. He should make better effort unless he is too afraid of the third week of the Giro.

Even the commentators said that he seemed to be struggling on the descent. Plus I didn't imply that he was a bad descender in general.
