He's looking good, but let's hope he's not peaking too early.
He was fading early last year during the Giro. If it wasn't for the bad weather he could have lost the podium.

Of course, there's always a chance that he's pulling a Pozzovivo-like-peak specially for Trentino. Anyway, it bodes well for the Giro. Astana may be the strongest in the mountains with the Aru/Scarponi/Landa trio.

lol @ people jumping to conclusions just after a short wall finish. a real high col mountain and he will drop like a stone. yesterdays final climb also wasn't long/hard. tomorrow final climb I think is long and steep?

he wasn't fading. he just sucks at high mountains. it has always been his weak point especially now he's getting older

So Galibier is a low mountain?

Purito should be possible ;) :p

How predictable it was, you even made me smile;)

This is the kind of terrain (and races) Evans still is good at. How longer and tougher the climbs, the more he will suffer of course.

It was also only meant with a smile ;) Evans has no chance in hell to end anywhere near Purito and Quintana.

I know it was meant with a smile. In life, it's better ending with a smile than make arguments about which rider is better:)

Its laughable that few people think anybody except Purito can match Nairo in the mountains.
I know that july race is usually so boring :D,but you should have watched last year to see Nairo climbing.

Netserk is right, Evans won't win the Giro.

Of course he won't win. But top 10, definitely possible. Maybe top 5 if he rides really well.

Did quite well in 2007 there as well.

So is Galibier a low mountain?
