Theres also that thing where climbing should be a little/skinny guys world. There was a time where size didn't matter so much and we all know why that was. I like cycling (clean) because no one is the best at everything. Everyone has their specialties.

Also this isn't a comment on Cadel because he's a pretty small fellow too. Just not Pozzo small.

Yeah right, all those clean light climbers like Pantani, Jiminez, Heras.....

pantani is the biggest natural climbing talent that has ever lived. no doubt. he was already destroying seasoned pro's as a 16 year old kid in training. there's even videos of it on youtube

Would love a link. Gonna watch the pantani film in couple of weeks as part of the belfast giro festival-maybe it's included.

Don't wanna spoil it but Pantani's movie is nothing special. Most things were previously seen in docs and footage before.

Back on topic, I don't think Evans can lose the GC although Pozzovivo has a chance to drop him tomorrow.
Battle for podium is wide open. I'm putting my money on Duarte.

Last call, but a brutal one. Stage 4:

To snatch the race from Evans, a move on this climb may be needed:

Otherwise somebody will have to go berserk on this tiny hill:

Show us what you got, Anton.

Highlights of the final climb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTDXIVafAfU

As I thought Evans outsprinted Pozzovivo but they were still together with 100mt to go. Landa the best Astana at the moment but he's quite far in the GC. Duarte worse than yesterday. Maybe Scarponi can grab the podium.

Edit: D&C oustprinted me with the video :D

Pozzo said after the stage he was dropped in the final - not outsprinted (read the story). If you look again at the Video you can see he was struggling to maintain his strength, in and out of his saddle - not so much a lack of a sprint.

Evans has done very well, that climb, although not super long, should have suited a small climber like Pozzovivo more than Evans the diesel. I think it also sends message to Pozzi about his chances of pulling it off tomorrow even if a much longer climb.

Anyhow, Cadel just needs to ride sensibly tomorrow and not extend himself too much. This is after all just training for him. He will need to be stronger and fresher for the Giro.

Agreed mate. Looks perfectly poised gor the final day with a hellish climb. I think the young Pole is favourite with Evans second and Pozzovivo third

There seems to be a romantic love on here of little Italian or Latin climbers. Like David and Goliath (not that Cadel is big). But I remember I was like that too in Pantani's days cheering him on against goliath Jan Ullrich in `98 and after following Big Mig's demolition of little climbers in the early 90s. I think it is natural to cheer for the little guy - an underdog thing.

It's usually the little and light guys that are real climbers and consequently they tend to be more aggressive in the mountains. That said, guys like Ullrich got a lot of love too back in the day.

Pozzovivo also said he was having some stomach problems...maybe he'll be even stronger tomorrow.

He had stomach problems because he had his **** handed to him on both days on the climbs so far. Pozzovivo won't be near the action at crunch time in the Giro anyway.
