Their climbers have been extremely weak, so they need all the help they can get
Besides, they had a guy designated for the stage win here. He just happened to crash violently yesterday.

castroviejo hasn't done an even remotely good itt in over a year. since his new position especially his itt sucks

Castroviejo has been weak the entire Giro, including the opening TTT. Not sure if he is really holding back, he just seems to lack form.
