I watched the stage last night and I feel like Canola isn't getting enough love. He was on the attack early and never missed a turn, he was the one not giving up when the break looked doomed, he attacked again with 3km to go and had little help from then on. Nevertheless he sprinted from 250mt out and got the win. By far the most deserving winner for this stage.
If it was Voigt doing this (but even Belkov) we'd still be talking about how mythical his effort was. Instead all I have to read is this bullcrap about race fixing from those sneaky Italians. Gimme a break.
Also, I'm baffled that even a remote hint on doping is strictly forbidden here, but when it comes to race buying/fixing people can say whatever they want.
