Quintana didn't fo full gass on Monte Grappa. I'm convinced of that. He thought he could do it on 90%, but when he saw Aru was closing and leading him at a certain point, he rode the last km some 15 seconds faster. That's quite impressive.

I think both Quintana and Aru went full gas. They crushed the oposition. Quintana was tired at the end of climb and his gains over rivals (besides Aru) on Monte Grappa were similar to his gains in Val Martello. It is Aru who made a leap forward.

Aru only lost 1 second of the 17 on the climb yesterday so if he has recovered well enough then he could hang onto Quintana for a long time

I think recovery is the key word for everyone in the top 10 at the moment. If Aru has recovered well Uran could be in a dangerous position to retain second especially as Rolland I think will also be active on this stage. Uran's climbing has been consistent but he has been on the defensive quite a lot in the mountains. It's just that he did such a great first TT and opened up a time gap.

*Putting on the 'Tinkoff-glasses' for a while here*

Either they've completely given up trying to change (or even maintain) Majka's position, or they have some kind of grand plan. What with putting his two main helpers in the break.

There is no use of any teammate (or anybody) after "La porta per l'inferno", so maybe they are trying to do something crazy but I really doubt that

Helpers in the main group are overrated unless you are the GC leader or have more than one rider close to GC top.

I think Rogers wants to enter top-20 GC.

OR

Tinkov now just wants a stage win, because he is pretty sure that there is no podium position available.

OR

Majka is cooked.

OR

Tinkoff guys have smoked the wrong pipe.

Quintana to take this one as well. Uran and Aru will try hard on Zoncolan to ride away but Nairo being Nario just wont let that happen!

disappointing anti climax from a race perspective.

perhaps one too many big mountain stages this year has meant Zoncolan is kind of pointless :(

Quintana blown it apart... a class above everyone else... like Contador a few years ago

well lets see, the pace has been very high and Movistar's train keeps the gap tight. Action on the stage could still be very good.

Indeed. Either Rafa's stomach is so bad it is hopeless and they are going for the stage win or they are preparing a long range plan. I hope it is the latter :)
