Swift wants the sprinters jersey, it seems. He is a good bet for an overall winner of the points classification. How much has the break?

This break for the intermediate looks questionable in terms of the points on offer vs the effort involved. 10 points for the winner is the same as the difference between 1st and 2nd in a flat stage finish. Bouhani will lose the jersey for a couple of stages but good for him long term that he's not there

Why? Tomorrow sprinters have no chance of winning the stage. And it's not like they've wasted much energy thus far.

I can't really explain it better than I have already. It's a 3 week race and the effort involved doesn't justify the small rewards imo. Bouhanni will be in better shape to win the bunch sprints where the major points are than Viviani and Swift will be if they are chasing small points in the first week

I really like this stage, it's very well designed. The win could go to a break away, sprinters (who can climb), puncheurs and GC guys. I think it'll be a fun stage and crosswinds won't make it any less interesting.

Battaglin for the win!

a little rain never harms battaglin either.

Oh, you are right.

CN live coverage wrote Swift was the virtual red jersey, maybe they've tricked you :p
I think it's something like this right now:
1. Viviani - 119
2. Bouhanni - 115
3. Nizzolo - 106
4. Ferrari - 96
5. Swift - 86

Team Sky tweeted that Swift is virtual points leader now

Perhaps he was for a millisecond before Viviani crossed the line
