Will be a fun finish, Quintana will be right up there

He should be there but I doubt he'll take the win. From what I've seen of the stage profile, the last meters aren't that steep. I bet on a faster rider.
But then again, they'll have more than 200km on their legs...

Not much for Quintano to get his teeth into on this one, surely? I'd expect him to bide his time. In some ways the stage suits Ben Swift, but perhaps not after yesterdays effort.

I thought Ben was trying to win the intermediate sprint yesterday, he might make it up there though today. I still remember that stage he won in PV.

Winning a stage in PV when the finish is after a descent, is something else than on a climb of 9 k at 5%. This is just to difficult for him.

If he wasn't too close on GC, I would bet on a Weening attack; this kind of grade is perfect for power climbers with heavy gears. I am seeing it already, 56x22 from 8km to go until the finish.
Anyway, and completely off topic: Elissonde should have been here.

Quite a boring stage all over again. Doesnt seem like a 21 day race at all. First week couldnt have been more boring!

None of the big teams sent anyone in the breakway. They couldnt care less. I guess the huge distance of 257 km could have been a deterrent

It's honestly like all the people moaning in here have never watched a grand tour before. Every time, every blood time, in every bloody tour people moan about the first week. It's part of the basic genetic makeup of GT's, deal with it. They tried a couple of years ago to make every stage with in uphill sprint in the Vuelta and guess what it was just the same... "uhhh, this is so boring they don't attack until the last kilometer"

It's a three week tour and these flat stages take their toll in the third week. That why it's considered a test of endurance not a series of tests of who can accelerate the most in the the last k's of an mountain.

Whats with the blue tape all over Pozzovivo's left knee - he have a crash sometime over the last few days? Just saw it on TV.

I think he went down yesterday. Got back into the peleton but may have been hurt in the fall and so the tape

Giro =/= Tour

Or did everyone also moan about the first week last year? :rolleyes:
