Disappointing stage indeed. Ulissi did nothing and won. Which is of course better than doing nothing and not winning, like most other riders.
Yup he did nothing. He managed to stay with the favorites, attacked and won

Tell me a calme first MTF TDF stage. Even 2011 Luz Ardiden had some action.

2012. 2011. 2010. 2009. 2008. 2007. Every time "BWAAAH 10 seconds or less between the big favorites".

Good, he's gonna get the maglia Rosa in 2015 if he keeps that up.

Even Ulissi was surprised of his win.

Unzué said two days ago, Nairo is having trouble sleeping due to crash injuries, he's just trying to keep in touch until next weekend

Not to diminish Ullissi's win, but If it wasn't for the breakaway with Arredondo, Pirazzi & Rolland- this stage would have been a disaster---the GC riders rode so "cowardly" today, I was expecting more from them...

And Ryder lost time.

Pozzovivo did okay.

Uran marking Evans.

A little early for Evans as GC leader.

The winner comes out of the current top-10.

Are you serious? A lot of attacks in most of them. But because you mentioned 2007 I think you answered as a joke.

Another good sign for Evans and BMC, in that Morabito was there until the last few metres, Sanchez not far behind.

2008?? Frank gained like 2 minutes on everybody else
Edit: Tignes was very entertaining for me as well

Not a huge epic battle between the favorites, but it made the final all the more tense because of it.

Arredondo and Rolland had a great fight, Moreno was the joke of the day, losing almost 30 seconds in 200 meter, after such an impressive attack.

Didn't think Ulissi would be capable of this, very nice. Kiserlovsky also strong, just as Kelderman, if he keeps this up, top-5 is possible (but it's still a long road to go). Quintana seems okay, but pretty far from his usual level. He needs to improve if the wants to beat Evans, who will surely take at least 1.5 to 2 minutes on him in the itt.

We're barely through the first week. They are racing like they have two more weeks and many opportunities to fall out of top-10.

Tomorrow is the first test. It's going to sort out the top-10 for the rest of the race.

That's so typical of this forum. Every single race people complain it was much better before. Then someone pulls posts from those same people just after the 'before' race showing everyone complaining it sucked, and the fight starts

And was considered in no way a GC guy. Everyone complained that the peloton just let nobodies take the stage...
People were actually taking shots at Riccò for not attacking

On a stage where two hillclimbers battled for the win you'd expect them to be there

well, Sanchez was 1:47 down
