In order to properly honour Pantani, they should put Selva Di Valgardena, Montecampione and Oropa too.apmfbs said:Even though I suffer a lot with Indurain last kilometers the climb to st Cristina and the last pass in Aprica were great. Marco deserves a stage like that.
Another rumours say that a double climb to Zoncolan could be programmed ( in the line of Alpe 2013), but I only think that is sure at the moment a big dedication to Marco Pantani.

- Les Deux Alpes
- Monte Carpegna
- Aprica (but this is just an obvious guess)
- Zoncolan (double pass they say, or/and Stentaria)
- Surely a finish or something at Cesenatico
Plan De Corones is a deal done back from 2012, it included Val Senales for 2013 so it's unclear if the deal is still active. The Hitch said:Is Zomegnan back?

St. Patrick's Hill in Cork is a bit too far from Dublin or Belfast. There are quite a few decent short sharp hills around Belfast, but none of them are close enough to be selective if they were to return for a city centre finish. I would imagine if they were to have a Belfast prologue, it would probably be around the newly redeveloped Titanic Quarter near the old shipyard just on the outskirts of the city centre, as our tourist board go crazy for anything Titanic related. It's pan flat around there, but can be quite windy as it's pretty exposed.Libertine Seguros said:Well, the Ireland start couldn't possibly be any worse than the Denmark start. Two featureless stages that delivered just as little as they promised, in fact even less, what with run-ins that caused pile-ups.
Any hope for that little hill they used in the Tour of Ireland where Armstrong and everyone climbed off in the rain in 2009?

1. Who?Mad Elephant Man said:1. I am shocked some people think this is a good idea
2. I am struggling to see why Pantani needs a Giro to honour him.

2. He doesn't. But they will do it anyway.
I only think it's a good idea because it's my city. I'm not really bothered about logistics in this case!Mad Elephant Man said:element and happytramp

Yes please. Although I don't really have all that much against Acquarone. Seems like a nice guy that won't let the Giro loose its tradition. The Hitch said:Is Zomegnan back?
