Only now noticed Andy is almost 9 minutes down in the GC.

He even got fined €164 for taking a shortcut..... disgrace for cycling, that's all I got to say

It goes beyond my comprehension to understand what the actual went wrong with him. I wouldn't say disgrace, more like sadness.

I think disgrace is quite fitting (not referring to the fine, but his career post July '11 as a whole).

The first two stages were not boring. In fact, the first was quite good. It would have been even better if Betancur had stayed on the group with Bardet, the Schlecks etc. That is what you get for riding in the back of the peloton

Bardet said in an interview that he was riding around 30 position in the field when they fell in front of him. Those GC contenders riding on the other side of the road were fine and went on, he was blocked. So I would not be too harsh with Bardet, Betancur was just lucky to be on the other side of the road and be able to pass

I didn't know about Bardet's position, too bad for him then, since he was riding in the middle-front of the bunch. But the likes of Betancur, Schlecks, Voeckler, all at the very end. Everytime the camera picked the rear of the peloton, there they were.

Wait, what happened here exactly? Saw a post saying he crashed or something, haven't had the time to look into it. So what happened with him?

Kim Andersen says:

“Andy [Schleck] is not here as one of our leaders, that was never planned. He is not in good enough form yet, as he is missing race days. He did a lot of work for the team today, going back often to get bottles. His motivation is good."

That hardly explains why he took a shortcut though.

To set this into context, according to our local newspaper he was fined according to the shortcut/cycling path etc rule. Basically he was taking either a small shortcut or a cycling path and was fined. Commissaires seem to be touchy since KBK with this rule. In the Equipe I read they were generally ****ed for 150 riders showing up 10 min before stage to sign in. They consider this a disrespect to the public. Made now a schedule which the teams where the most riders failed to sign have to appear first :D

Good that Andy Pandy is made to carry bottles for his team mates.

He didn't have the opportunity in his younger days to do it, so he gets it in his prime!

Should put his Ego back in his place.
