Just curious, but how some so many of you guys don't seem to like Terpstra? Has he done something in the past that I'm not aware of? He made a perfect move to win the race. Props to him. A well deserved win.

There are other young and upcoming riders that deserve a monument way more than him (Vanmarcke, Sagan, Van Avermaet, etc.)

He was not the strongest by a long shot and was lucky that no-one even attempted to react to his attack. Sure, his acceleration was probably stronger than that of Sir Brad but everyone reacted to Wiggo immediately.

It was a lame end to a race and instead of getting a 'legendary' winner that we'll remember in 20-30 years we got Niki Terpstra.

Utter garbage. Terpstra fully deserved his win and took it in style. GVA crashed, Sagan had nothing left and Vanmarcke does not know how to win yet.

Sagan did plenty to animate the race (far too much in fact, to his own detriment). If he'd won in a sprint finish it would have been thoroughly deserved.

Yes, but he spent the whole day attacking together with Boonen and Thomas, so not an unexpected fail

Yeah, but that's cycling and this is not a mountain stage in the TdF. Only when going uphill the strongest rider almost always wins since it's about power output/body weight ratio.

A Classic is about tactics, teams, luck and timing, not just about your strength.

Sounds more like a bunch of idiots to me. They all marked Wiggins but none wanted to chase Niki since they probably figured Cancellara would do that and when he didn't they were all left standing there with their heads up their asses and asking themselves what to do?!

You can't win without taking a few risks, Niki did and it paid off this time. Hats off to him.

Sagan's brave move at 20+km wasted him. the only way he could have won a sprint was if everyone else chose to drag his *** into the velodrome.

Nah I do not really have anything against Terpstra.

I dislike it when someone wins who (in my opinion) was obviously not one of the few strongest or when I have a feeling that they will not be winning many more monuments. Terpstra fits both criteria.
