Isn't there, at least, a slim chance for a breakaway?

I hope we will have a good breakaway. If they has a proper advatage,Omega should ride hard on 1st and 2nd climb to reduce the time and for the last climb all their domestiques will be gone and movistar, sky or saxo should start ride REALLY hard, then it will be a great stage.
As for the chance of breakaway win,I think its about 5%

Some action would be great. And there are a number of candidates. From Basso to Pozzo to Nairo.

But i have to go with Kwiatkowski again. Too hard for Sagan, too easy for the very best climbers. But i got my doubts Kwiatkowski is vulnerable at all this week.

Sums it up for me. I think something out of the ordinary has to happen for Kwiatkowski not to win this race (GC).

Hoping Quintana and Contador brought their climbing legs and are ready to rip the climb and peloton apart. If they do will be interesting to see how Kwiatkowski stacks up against them, and how Porte's form is looking in comparison to Quintana's with both heading into the Giro.

Honestly, I could see any of the big 4 winning here.

Porte is saying he is confident that he can claw back some time.

.. we shall see lil' porte talk the talk, walk the walk this weekend. :p I'm curious how he stacks against quintana and contador. I might be surprised.

Porte won't be as good as Quintana and Contador, he may be a few seconds behind them in the climb. Porte will make up that time in the ITT.

With all the focus on Kwiatkowski, how will Uran be used? As bait for a suicidal attack or worse... pacing him up the mountain when dropped?

i think he''ll have the freedom to secure his own result, OPQS knows the value of having more than one potential winner in a race. I think it might benefit Uran to have Kwiatkowski,it could be a handy excuse to do a bit of wheel sucking.

Kwiato hung with Nibali and Froome on the queen stage last year. Finished ahead of Alberto. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he'll need Uran to pace him back.

If Wiggins does any mountain domestique pacesetting, the Anglo commentators will just evaporate in their unfaltering admiring wonderment. "He led the pack for 300m. What a team player!"

No one is mentioning Pozzovivo? Though the gradients are not high enough for him i think.

I hope Contador will win today, it would be good for his morale. Though Kwiat will probably win

Has Contador done something recently that I missed for people to talk about him with Quintana for climbing?

Used to love him, but he's just not the same rider anymore. On a level with Porte (if he hits his 50% chance of not bonking) at best.

So you don't love him anymore

We'll see how he goes today. The hype is there, now he needs to live up to it :)

lol people are expecting monstrous climbing or something while the climb is just 5%. at leats 40 riders will finish within 30 seconds unless 2nd last climb is done full which is doubtful, maybe quintana will go there though

Quintana lost time yesterday. I don't think he's really up for it. Kwiatkowski has to be the favorite today on a climb like this. Contador second biggest favorite imo.
