Laurens Ten Dam keeps slowly gaining points for BeagRigh. Worried Hansen will escape down the road and claim some vital points today. I need Rolland and JVB to stop falling down the GC.

Comodoro makes a Valverde-like recovery to regain his earlier position. Akuryo had a short-lived stay in the top ten, and Leadbelly takes over that spot. As in the real race, the battle for the last podium place is about as tense as it gets now.

If Kittel has enough energy left to sprint at all, Comodoro's third place is at risk.
Gotland, who chose no-one more expensive than Van Garderen, seems certain to be the top non-Nibalist, while the last spot in the top ten is fairly close for those who consider it a valid ambition.

Majka is actually a good pick in hindsight.

A pick that no-one made.
In terms of percentage return, he is the 24th best pick at 37.2%, Gastauer, Trentin and Vanotti were all also eschewed by all managers and had a better return.

He is the 5th highest scorer (projected) at the moment, but if you had the points in your budget to buy him, it would have been better spent on Pinot or Peraud, both about 300 points cheaper. If you already had them, but still had 944 points to spare, he would have been an excellent pick.

But he would have been a much better pick than most of my team.

Despite I'm not playing for the big prices, this is still exciting to follow because of the fight for the 10th place indeed. It'll be close.

i had the Talansky/Cav/Contador combination. Majka, at the beginning of the tour, was expected to be only a dom for the Pyrenes. in Alps, he would have been setting early pace.
(Pinot/Peraud had the curse of being french:rolleyes:. that was a miscalculation from my end.)

i was pointing out that in hindsight, he would have been a damn good pick for most of us who had lost our @ 900 pts rider in crashes. he is on par with a 3.5-win Cav.

leaving the top-10 GC, who is the best pick in this bracket?

I was thinking exactly the same thing! I'm gonna fight to keep that 10th spot, well, I'm gonna hope like hell I stay there! Could slip down to 14th though if things don't go as planned...

Noticed a few other battles for third and for 5th. Exciting times all round.

And Navardauskas will have taken you a huge step closer to that 10th place.

Search goes from 15th to 14th, and Italian Gigolo makes the opposite move. Diggercuz is 88 points clear of 11th, instead of 1 point clear. That is about as dramatic as it gets today. You don't really need a full table for that do you?

And for the life of me i cant remember exactly why i chose him in the first place...

I remember he was my last pick though... And pretty much he was thereabouts in the points i had remaining. I also remember thinking that once i had my team i had a few points left over and thought Cav or Kittel, Cav or Kittel, well it is starting in Yorkshire so Cav would be super motivated for that one so lets go Cav. great move that turned out to be...

Anyway, top 10. super happy about that one...

ItalianGigolo moves up 4 places to 11th: that is the most significant positional change.

Comodoro is 3rd, but has no sprinter (whatever Visconti might claim). Vladimir needs Kittel to finish in the top 7 to get 3rd.

Kittel is also the key to 10th: the current incumbent (Diggercuz) was reliant on Cavendish for this stage, whereas the three behind all have Kittel. If Kittel can get top 3, then we should have a tie for tenth.

Search, in 14th, has Greipel as a unique pick, but would need some fairly extraordinary placings behind a Greipel/Navardauskas 1-2 to get into the top ten.

Kittel moves Vladimir onto the podium, and also Kazistuta above previous 3rd place Comodoro.

Although Navardauskas almost retained 10th for Diggercuz, Kittel's victory moved ItalianGigolo and Akuryo above him. Those two were level on points this morning, but the hitherto fruitless selection of Bernie Eisel by Akuryo split them.

Congratulations to Handbrake, who took the lead on stage 10 when Pinot's GC points eventually became more valuable than Kittel's stage victories; to BeagRigh, who rose to provide at least some threat; to Vladimir who took 9 stage wins with Nibali, Kittel and Kadri; to the rest of the Nibalists, who had the courage to make an outsider their main investment; to Gotland, who was top non-Nibalist by virtue of avoiding investing in a very expensive DNF (though he did have Talansky); and to everyone who had a go.

Thanks to Armchair Cyclist for the daily updates and analysis. Lets hope there are not as many GC contenders crash out at the Vuelta to keep everyone in the game (although I did have Talansky in my team :D).

I'm glad I persisted with a slow Wifi putting together my team by using my phone sitting by a pool in Vietnam!

Congrats for winning. Well done. I got soundly beaten - could not even manage to get the Lantern Rouge. Many thanks to Armchair again for putting in so much work.

I brought this up before and it was rejected by everyone that answered to it but I try again: I think the game is great as it is but could be improved by either allowing more points or allow to exchange riders at a certain point (and maybe for a fee). As it is now, most of the time, it is a lottery and after a third of the game it was over for about 80% of the players. I don't mean to diminish the achievements of the high scoring guys and I still enjoy the game and I am grateful to Armchair to put it up as it is. All I am saying is that, generally, a game is better if more players can fight for the win and stay in the competition. There are several different ways to achieve that and I think it worth discussing it and maybe trying it. Cheers.

Thanks for the organisation of this, and congratulations again to those who estimated Nibali's value so well!

Also glad to see the cumulative ranking, didn't expect that at all!

Surprised that no single sprinter made this cut.
This tour was also bad for roulers.

Thank you AC for running the game.
Looking forward to the Veulta game.
