Vino was never a dominant Gt rider so it is not comparable to a 5/7 GT winner missing. Also does anyone think GThomas is actually a great rider?. I actually think he is 1 of best. Who does well in climbs and cobbles like he does?

Thomas = the most complete rider in the peloton? He is a super-talent.

Good on the flat, cobbles, time trial, as a lead-out man, track, sharp hills, high mountains.

Gutted about Kwaitkowski, i think he is going to be like Lulu Sanchez in GT's. This is 2 in a row he fades in high mountains.

Super non winner as well. That's the price to pay for being so well rounded

after an epic Vuelta 06 we started a tour 07 where the old guard of Armstrong, Ullrich and Basso were non participants for different reasons, and with Kloden as a domestique. He was a bigger favourite on paper than most riders has ever been

This is what happens when you aim for GC. I know he was also sick but i don't think he's a guy for GC. Go for stages.

Don't go the VDB2 road

That's a bad sign, at least the descent is near he can recover a bit and probably Horner will join him again.
