Now that's a surprise. Probably Horner just setting them up for a blistering attack on the Risoul.
A master plan by Horner to have Costa out of top 10, and go for a win in the Pyrinees

Guess you haven't been watching, he has been on the front multiple times in this stage.

Ehm no? Unless Roche counts as "Majka". He has been resting until now.

This is what happens when you aim for GC. I know he was also sick but i don't think he's a guy for GC. Go for stages.

Don't go the VDB2 road

Going the VDB route is being invisible all season for an anonymous top 10 at the Tour. So saying Costa is going the VDB route makes no sense.

He has already won 3 Tour stages so he has every right to see what he can do on GC.

Super non winner as well. That's the price to pay for being so well rounded

On the other hand, being so 'well rounded' means you bounce better when hitting the deck, and let's face it, among all his other talents, G excels at hitting the deck as well ;)

When did everyone suddenly start thinking about Rui Costa as a GT GC rider

No one said he could win a GT. But i still think he can top 10 one. Just because he was hit by a illness just before the alps, it doesn't make it any less true,

He is a waste though in GC the guy can not handle it. He is like Cunego. A great buy for Lampre i admit but theyare crying out for a GT leader. Pathetic how they have treated Horner. It does not say much when you're getting destroyed by an old man. Also i hear he is sick what happend to him?

Well ok but doesn't change my point that i don't think he can do it. Now because he was sick he'll try it again next year and most likely fail. Hopefully he won't try it again then.

And a guy like Costa shouldn't care about a top 10. Is that worth missing stage wins?

Not when you haven't won any stages. When you have already won plenty, you have every right to try something new. Besides he can always slow down and try to win a stage any time

Anyway AG2R attack.

If he wasn't world champion, you could say 'he should try that first'.
But he is. What's left but GC? Ardennes? Sure, but that doesn't conflict with Tour GC.
