Actually other then NetApp the wild cards were terrible this year. Absolutely terrible. Cofidis are an embarrassment and Bretagne are entirely out of their depth. IAM at least was fairly visible, albeit with no product at the end.

NetApp, as in last year's Vuelta, were the only ones to justify the invitation. The French WT teams may be much improved in recent years but their PC teams are a disgrace.

True. Actually I feel there were a number of teams that were totally invisible or below their level this year, more so than last year(s).

OK, let's say you're right and a guy deserves something if he didn't crash.
TJ should be 7th because Contador and Froome crashed out.

And Bardet flatted. The final GC will have him in 6th. That's the Tour. There are lots of stories of rider's having plain bad luck that cost them dearly in the end. It doesn't take away from either Bardet or TeJay's impressive rides this year.
