Mollema says he cramped up after 10 k and made a mistake to use this new TT bike. Ten Dam, on the other hand, says it's a great bike but he just went out too carefully.

Going out on an untested bike is one thing, not switching back to the old one once you realize it isn't working is another.

Not as far back as Nibali !. + Nibali exhausted fromchasing him for 3 weeks.

I think Nibali would have been fresher because he wouldn't have ridden 9km alone up the Hautacam if Froome was there.

And still wasn't the top Spanish Movistar TTist today

Valverde was struggling every day of the last week. Even yesterday he seemed dead at the end.

This TT shows more how tired he is than his real level in TT.

Nibali after today's stage talking about the ITT:

"I'll honour the yellow jersey, the Tour de France and my team by riding as a leader."

It won't be easy for Tony.

It was easy for Tony

Maybe his new DSes at Trek can talk some sense into Mollema, rather than following him on every whim like the Belkin management. "Oh, it's just Bauke". No, he needs to work on his position, it looks ridiculous and could be much more efficient.

He came close to MArtin last year on 11th stage .. 12 seconds back.

Now in third week he might have smashed him.

Martin is in far better condition than he was last year.

Tony Martin will probably win allthough I do think Nibali will seriously challenge his time and if there are changing weather conditions that favour the GC riders it's more likely that Nibali will win the TT.

Lol...........

Can you read? He said if there was favourable conditions for the GC guys. There clearly wasn't. And I think as soon as Nibali saw Martin's time he probably decided that winning the stage was impossible. He clearly took the corners rather conservatively.

He said he would challenge Martins time regardless !. You can't read or see the point.

How painfull is this for Valverde. This was his last chance to reach the podium of the Tour, with a relatively weak field. But once again, Bala shows he isn't good enough as a climber (or GC-rider in general) to be really a factor in Le Tour. Don't forget today he didn't had a chance at all to overtake Pinot. Not a single chance.

This will be a huge blow for him. I wonder if he will start in the Vuelta, knowing he will ofcourse have to work for Nairo.
